Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Fire Engineer to join their life safety and fire protection practice in the United States. You will support senior engineers in applying fire and life-safety strategies to design projects, contribute to fire modeling and dynamic egress analyses, and assist with documentation for fire alarm and suppression systems.

The role involves collaboration with architects, contractors, and multi-disciplinary teams across offices.

The opportunity

• Provide consulting for life safety, building, and fire code compliance

• Contribute to the development of prescriptive and performance-based design strategies.

• Assist senior engineers to help clients to incorporate fire and life safety strategy concepts into the designand review drawings for conformance with the agreed strategy

• Assist with development of fire alarm, detection, and fire suppression systems design documents

• Assist senior engineers on project site visits and communicate with architects, contractors and consulting teams

• Participate in internal team meetings and external client meetings

• Adapt to working with multiple teams, across multiple offices in a multi-discipline environment

• Perform smoke control analysis

• Assist with fire modeling

• Assist with dynamic egress modeling

• Assist with the development of structural fire calculations

• Assist with the development of fire safety strategies for special hazards

Los Angeles Hiring Range – Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles is $76,500 to $83,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles will differ.

San Francisco Hiring Range – Hiring Range- The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performedin San Francisco is $79,500 to $86,500 per year. This range iscommensuratewith experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of San Francisco will differ.
