Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Graduate Engineer to join our Transportation team. You will support a licensed Civil Engineer, learn our practices and codes, and contribute to plans and specifications for public infrastructure projects.

The role involves design software proficiency, technical calculations, and collaboration across teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or equivalent field of study, and/or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months.
• Engineer-in-Training Certificate, or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist project team in design of public infrastructure work.
• Provide technical, day-to-day design support to the Project Engineer, including drafting support for plan production activities.
• Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and utility evaluations.
• Prepares drawings and visual aids.
• Prepare various exhibits and design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, MicroStation, Open Roads, HEC RAS, or other related engineering software
• Follow internal QA/QC procedures, engineering standards, and best practices.
• Observe construction activities and translate drawings into the constructed product.
• Learn engineering processes and apply them to operating systems.
• Coordinate with agency staff and internal support teams on designs, analysis, and issues.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to develop calculations in Excel, reports and letters in Word, and presentations in PowerPoint.

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Graduate Engineer to join our Transportation team.

In this role, you are expected to work on a team providing support to a licensed Civil Engineer while learning the

company's standard practices and local agency codes. As part of our Public Infrastructure team, you will be dedicated

to becoming proficient in Design Software, performing technical calculations, preparing plans and specifications, and

assisting with other project management and engineering tasks. In pursuit of a Professional Engineering license, the

applicant must be organized, self-motivated, and able to collaboratively solve complex issues on time and within

budget.

Expected start date: January 2026 or May/June 2027
