Job summary

Halff is seeking new graduates graduating in December 2026 or May 2027 for a Graduate Civil Engineer in Houston, TX. The role focuses on transportation design for roadway and highway projects, with opportunities for career development and potential ownership in the firm.

You will design under a Professional Engineer, perform schematic design, calculations, and assist with permit applications, while coordinating with surveyors and contractors and attending client meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• Ability to obtain EIT within 1 year.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• 0–3 years of experience in Transportation Design for roadway & highway projects.
• Experience with MicroStation or OpenRoads Designer.
• Knowledge of roadway and drainage design modules.

Halff is seeking New Graduates who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 for a Graduate Civil Engineer in our Houston, TX location. The position will be for a General Civil Engineer interested in Transportation Design for roadway & highway design projects. What You Will Do

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Perform schematic design work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies

What You Will Need

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable Driving Record
• The ability to obtain an EIT Certificate within one (1) year
• Great communication skills
• Solid relationship and team building skills
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills
• 0 to 3 years of experience in Transportation Design for roadway & highway design projects
• Experience in MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer
• Knowledge of applicable roadway and drainage modules
