Job summary

Halff seeks new graduates (Dec 2026 or May 2027) for our San Antonio or Austin locations as General Civil Engineers focused on Traffic Engineering/ITS Design for roadway and highway projects. This role offers strong career growth and potential ownership opportunities.

You will design under a Professional Engineer, perform calculations, assist with permits, coordinate with surveyors and contractors, and attend client and regulatory meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• Ability to obtain EIT within one year.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• 0–3 years of experience in transportation design for roadway/highway projects.

Halff is seeking New Graduates who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 in our San Antonio or Austin N, TX location. The position will be for a General Civil Engineer interested in Traffic Engineering/ITS Design for roadway & highway design projects. What You Will Do

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies

What You Will Need

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Driving Record
• The ability to obtain an EIT Certificate within one (1) year
• Great communication skills
• Solid relationship and team building skills
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills
• 0 to 3 years of experience in Transportation Design for roadway & highway design projects
• Experience in MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer
• Knowledge of applicable traffic engineering/ITS, and roadway standards and methods
