Job summary

Halff is seeking new graduates who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 for a Graduate Civil Engineer in our Austin, TX location. This entry-level role focuses on transportation design for roadway and highway projects, with opportunities for career growth and potential ownership within the firm.

Design projects under supervision, perform schematic design, and develop engineering calculations while coordinating with surveyors, contractors, and clients. EIT within one year is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Driving Record.
• Ability to obtain an EIT Certificate within one year.
• Great communication skills.
• 0–3 years of experience in Transportation Design for roadway & highway design projects.
• Experience in MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer.
• Knowledge of roadway and drainage modules.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Perform schematic design work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with team members, surveyors and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
