Job summary

TikTok is hiring for a Software Engineer to join the Global Engineering CDN team in San Jose. You will help build and operate a self-built CDN platform used across multi-cloud environments, contributing to performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

You will work on both software development and production operations, gaining hands-on experience with distributed systems and global traffic management. Applicants should be available to onboard by year-end.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Familiar with Go, Python, Java, or C/C++.
• Solid foundation in data structures, OS, networks, and databases.
• Understanding of HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, caching, or Linux.
• Strong learning ability and interest in infrastructure platforms.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development, operation, and continuous improvement of ByteDance's self-built CDN platform.
• Support internal service teams in adopting the platform, including onboarding and troubleshooting.
• Improve platform supportability, workflows, and enablement for large-scale CDN services.
• Contribute to CDN documentation, onboarding guides, configuration references, and playbooks.
• Contribute to knowledge base construction to improve knowledge sharing and efficiency.
