TikTok is seeking a Backend Software Engineer Graduate for Emerging Products & AI Safety, starting in 2027, based in San Jose. You will join the Trust and Safety engineering team to protect users, build data platforms, and drive moderation tooling.

Ideal candidates have a CS degree and hands-on coding in C++, Python or Java, with exposure to big data tech and distributed systems. The role offers a robust compensation package and a path to growth within a global tech leader.

Qualifications

• Recently completed or about to complete a Bachelor's/Master's degree in CS or a related field.
• Experience with C++, Python or Java in software development.
• Proficient in server-side tech in distributed/high concurrency environments.
• Experience with big data tools (Spark, Flink, ClickHouse, HBase) is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; data insight experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to data application architecture for the Trust and Safety stack.
• Improve stability and efficiency of data systems while reducing storage/cost complexity.
• Design data integration, offline/real-time development, governance and BI analytics.
• Mentor peers, influence RD culture, and strengthen cross-team capabilities.
