TikTok is offering a General Hire Software Engineer Intern position in Trust and Safety Engineering for 2027 Summer in San Jose. The internship provides hands-on experience with content moderation systems, rule engines, and cross-functional collaboration with ML engineers and other teams.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a software-related degree and can commit to 12 weeks, with experience in Go/Python/PHP/C/C++/Java and strong data structures knowledge. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in software development, CS, CE, or related technical field.
• Able to commit to 12 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Proficient in Go/Python/PHP/C++/C/Java.
• Strong data structures and algorithms knowledge.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated software engineering experience from internships, projects, or coding competitions.
• High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Protect users from harmful content and abusive behaviors as part of Trust and Safety (TnS) engineering.
• Collaborate with Trust and Safety experts, ML engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver results.
• Design and implement technical solutions to support business requirements.
• Build content moderation systems, rule engines, risk insight systems, and related platforms.
