Job summary

Monterey Institute of International Studies is seeking a Graduate Assistant to provide administrative support for the Translation and Interpretation Program under the supervision of Professor Wallace Chen. This is a non-exempt, temporary part-time staff position at the student level A, with a hiring range of $16.95 per hour.

The role involves handling inquiries, representing the program in campus activities, preparing correspondence and materials, and maintaining records and office equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years comparable experience.
• College-level coursework and familiarity with an academic setting desirable.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handles all program inquiries.
• Represents the T&I Program in campus-wide activities.
• Handles general correspondence with clients, students, businesses, institutions etc.
• Oversees mailings for program newsletters and brochures.
• Assists with program setup and hospitality events.
• Greets the public and handles inquiries via phone, in-person, mail, fax and e-mail.
