Job description

Position Summary: Wagner College, a Division I institution located in Staten Island, NY, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant – Ticketing Director to join its athletic department. This unique opportunity offers hands-on experience in college athletics with a focus on ticketing operations, revenue generation, and fan engagement for Wagner’s three ticketed sports: Football, Men’s Basketball, and Women’s Basketball.

This role is ideal for a dynamic and creative individual eager to contribute to ticket sales, customer service, alumni engagement, and fundraising efforts—all while earning a master's degree, on-campus housing, and a meal plan as part of the Graduate Assistant compensation package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute ticket operations including season, group, and single-game sales,
    as well as game day box office management.
  • Assist in the execution and development of ticketing and fundraising strategies across all
    athletic events.
  • Create and implement innovative sales campaigns and promotions to increase revenue and attendance.
  • Collaborate with the Associate AD for External Relations and other departments (Marketing, Compliance, Advancement).
  • Partner with Alumni Relations and Institutional Advancement to support alumni ticketing initiatives and donor engagement.
  • Manage NCAA and NEC compliance for pass lists for student-athletes, staff, and recruits.
  • Serve as the main contact for all ticket inquiries
  • Provide exceptional customer service and conflict resolution.
  • Generate financial reports and track revenue and attendance data.
  • Contribute to outreach efforts including cold calling, email campaigns, and group presentations.
  • Support and help coordinate department fundraising events including golf outings and Seahawk booster clubs (e.g., Seahawk Club, Touchdown Club, Hardwood Club).
  • Supervise and train student workers in ticketing operations and game day logistics.

Preferred Skills & Experiences:

  • Experience with AudienceView or similar ticketing software
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or creative tools
  • Customer service, sales, and cold-calling experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Understanding of NCAA compliance and ticket operations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management, Business, Communications, or related field
  • Acceptance into Wagner College’s graduate program (required)
  • Previous experience in ticket sales, sponsorship, fundraising, or game day/event
    operations preferred
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
