Position Overview

The Program Director's Assistant will support the Program Director in managing the daily operations of the afterschool program. Responsibilities include administrative duties, data entry, and compliance monitoring. This role is suited for candidates with strong skills in knowledge management, document retention, communication, and systems design, particularly in a fast-paced environment.

Alongside the Program Director, Assistant Directors provide leadership and supervision for after-school staff, oversee children, and collaborate with teachers to develop curriculum and activities in areas such as sports, arts, academic enrichment, and leadership. The role involves both administrative tasks and on-site supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Program Director with all aspects of program operation.
  • Maintain participant information and attendance records on DYCD online, ensuring timely data entry.
  • Complete and submit required paperwork.
  • Organize and maintain participant, employee, and program documents.
  • Assist with planning parent engagement activities, events, and shows.
  • Monitor staff-to-participant ratios daily.
  • Supervise children and participate in activities and trips as needed.
  • Maintain supplies for first aid and safety kits.
  • Keep incident/injury logs and complete reports for review by the Program Director.
  • Serve as program manager in the Program Director’s absence, in cooperation with the Education Specialist.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
