The University of North Carolina at Greensboro seeks a Graduate Assistant for programming to support ACE and CAP initiatives on campus. You will advise student leaders, help plan events, and manage portions of programming budgets and logistics.
Responsibilities include serving as on-site advisor, attending CAP meetings, and coordinating with campus entities on events like Homecoming and Welcome Weeks. Office hours and event weeks require flexible scheduling.
The term Graduate Assistant is the umbrella term that encompasses all types of GA appointments. Graduate Assistants are employed by the University to teach, conduct research, or assist with administrative duties in departments and non‑academic units. Every attempt is made to assign Graduate Assistants to positions that are directly related to the student’s field of study or that provide the opportunity to develop transferable, professional skills. Graduate Assistantships are assigned in the department or unit and confirmed by the Graduate School.

The CAP Graduate Assistant for Programming reports directly to the Coordinator for Programs. They will also report indirectly to the Associate Director and Director of CAP respectively.
The above outlines the opportunities available for the CAP Graduate Assistants for Programming, however responsibilities may vary between the first and second year depending on individual interests and office needs.
Office is open 9:00am‑5:00pm, GA will serve office hours in addition to evenings and weekends required for programming for a total of 20 hours per week.
Academic year, August 3rd to end of school (until last GA day outlined on graduate school calendar).
CAP offers graduate assistants who work in their office ongoing professional development opportunities including but not limited to membership, registration, and/or travel to associations and conferences, workshops, trainings. Professional development plans are designed and implemented under the direction of the graduate assistant’s supervisor.
