Job summary

DeSales University in Center Valley, PA seeks a Graduate Assistant for the Academic Success Center to assist with student success, early alerts, and targeted interventions. The position supports the Assistant Director, Coordinator of Gateway to Success, and Coordinator of Tutoring, with opportunities to help plan the Gateway To Success Summer Program and oversee the textbook lending library.

Applicants must be current graduate students in a Higher Education program and able to work some evenings

Qualifications

• Current student in the university Master’s in Higher Education program.
• Passionate about helping students to achieve academic success.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to learn and utilize software effectively.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with a variety of state and federal laws, guidelines, and regulations.
• Schedule requires occasional evening and weekend hours.
• Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability, and diversity.
• Dedicated to the mission of a Catholic, liberal arts institution.

Responsibilities

• Support the Assistant Director of the Academic Success Center, the Coordinator of Gateway to Success, and the Coordinator of Tutoring.
• Contribute to early alert responses and targeted interventions for subpopulations.
• Meet with individual students to provide guidance and support.
• Assist with planning and implementing the Gateway To Success Summer Program and ongoing programming during the year.
• Oversee the center’s textbook lending library and assist with event planning.
