Under the direction of Principal Investigator, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The Graduate Assistant will work with Dr. Brant’s laboratory on genetics of inflammatory bowel diseases ( IBD ) research projects. The research team will be performing three projects: recruitment of patients with IBD and healthy controls for genetic association studies; epigenetic analyses on diverse ancestral populations using ATAC -Seq complemented by gene expression using RNA -Seq to understand differential genetic association of IBD loci by ancestry; and statistical genetics association and bioinformatic analyses to determine IBD risk variants by ancestry and those that interact with environmental factors.
