Job summary

Branscome in Virginia is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator – Charles City to move and level materials on mining pits and grading projects. The role emphasizes safe operation of heavy construction equipment and coordination with site teams to meet project specs.

You will read grade stakes, perform rough and fine grade operations, and direct trucks to off-load or spread materials. A valid driver’s license is required; MSHA certification is a plus and willingness to work nights/weekends is

Qualifications

3-5 years of Heavy Construction / Grading Equipment operating experience for rough and fine grade operations.
Understand GPS grade control.
Ability to read and interpret grade elevations and stakeout.
Valid Driver’s License in good standing.

Responsibilities

Operate Heavy Construction / Grading Equipment to move and level materials, such as dirt, sand, and stone.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Spread dirt in fill area.
Perform rough and fine grade operations.
Run a fill area.
Read slope stakes.
Cut and fill slopes and/or designated construction areas to the job’s specifications
Direct trucks and equipment where to off-load, stock, or spread material loads.
Dress and clean up job at the completion.
Water, oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
Operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner.
Willingness to work nights and weekends.
Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
