Job summary

Branscome in Virginia is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support Hampton Roads projects. You will operate dozers and excavators for site grading, underground storm pipe installations, and related earthwork, following safety policies and project specs.

You will read grade elevations, direct trucks and equipment, and perform rough and fine grading, ensuring on-time completion and quality. A high school diploma is preferred and OSHA/MSHA certification is a plus; a valid driver's license is

Qualifications

• 3–5 years operating dozers and excavators for site grading and underground storm pipe installations.
• OSHA and/or MSHA certification a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret grade elevations and stakeout.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Spread dirt in fill areas and perform rough and fine grade operations.
• Excavate for underground storm pipe installation.
• Read slope stakes and cut/fill slopes to specifications.
• Direct trucks and equipment to off-load, stock, or spread material loads.
• Dress and clean up the job site at completion.
• Water, oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
• Operate equipment in a safe and consistent manner.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends.
