Job summary

GNS, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Grading Division to spread, cut, and level dirt, gravel, and stone to project specs.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of heavy equipment experience with strong fine grading capabilities, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Must be able to work Monday-Saturday on-site across local job sites, with benefits and a sign-on bonus referenced in postings.

• 5+ years operating heavy equipment, with emphasis on fine grading.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent physical stamina and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Fine grade to specifications for earthwork and site development.
• Operate equipment at production pace while following signals from crew.
• Level surfaces to grade, observe stakes and markings for specifications.
• Safe operation and minor maintenance of equipment; assist with traffic control devices.
