Job summary

Branscome is seeking a Backhoe Operator to safely operate machinery for asphalt milling and paving prep. You will dig, lift and move materials, support milling crews, and prep surfaces for paving under varying shift schedules.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least 2 years of backhoe experience, and a strong safety mindset. Overtime and day/night shift flexibility are expected in a fast-paced Virginia work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Backhoe Operator preferred.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a backhoe to dig, lift and move materials in asphalt milling and paving operations.
• Operate a backhoe to prepare and support road and pavement projects.
• Work alongside milling machines to remove asphalt and prepare surfaces for paving.
• Support asphalt milling crews by preparing and cleaning work areas and moving debris.
• Operate other heavy equipment such as skid steers and brooms as needed.
• Overtime work is required and shift flexibility may be necessary.
