Job summary

JT Russell & Sons, Inc in Albemarle, NC seeks a Full Time Grading Foreman to lead grade crews on highway projects. This onsite role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and the ability to read plans and supervise equipment and crews.

You will supervise and train crew, track time and materials, coordinate with foremen and DOT personnel, and ensure compliance with regulations. A minimum of 3 years' experience and a valid driver's license are required; GPS familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Grade Foreman in heavy civil/highway work.
• Well-organized with clear communication to management and crew.
• Experience scheduling materials and employees for projects.
• Certifications such as Erosion Control Level I/II, Trenching/Excavation Competent Person, Work Zone Safety Supervisor are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise grade crew members in a safe, efficient work environment.
• Train crew on operational protocols and safety measures; maintain daily records.
• Read plans, determine project needs, and coordinate with foremen, subcontractors and DOT personnel.
• Operate grading equipment per procedures; oversee maintenance and regular cleaning.

• Willing to perform some manual labor as needed
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
