Job summary

JT Russell & Sons in Albemarle, NC seeks a Full Time Grading/Pipe Foreman to lead grade and pipe crews on highway construction projects. Onsite position with a competitive salary of $75,000–$85,000 DOE, plus comprehensive benefits.

You will supervise crews, read plans, ensure safety, coordinate with management and DOT personnel, and maintain records of time, materials and equipment. Valid driver’s license and 3+ years' foreman experience required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Grade/Pipe Foreman in heavy civil/highway work.
• Well-organized with strong communication with management and crew.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Willing to perform some manual labor as needed.

Responsibilities

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the heavy civil and/or highway industry as a Grade/Pipe Foreman is essential. You need to be well-organized and capable of understanding work directions while communicating effectively with both management and crew members. Experience in scheduling materials and employees for projects is critical, along with keen attention to detail and situational awareness to uphold safety standards. Physical stamina is necessary, as the role requires standing for long periods, bending, and lifting up to 90 pounds.

Familiarity with GPS technology is a plus, and holding or obtaining certifications such as Erosion Control, Trenching/Excavation Competent Person, and Work Zone Safety Supervisor is beneficial. You must also be proficient in working outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining professionalism in interactions with co-workers, inspectors, and the public.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
