Waterville Public Schools in Maine is seeking an ESOL Coordinator for Teaching and Learning to oversee PK-12 multilingual learner programs. This role partners with ESOL teachers and building leaders to drive data-informed instruction and professional development.
The coordinator will analyze assessment data, support WIDA standards, and help staff implement SIOP strategies while engaging families and communities to promote equitable opportunities.

The ESOL Coordinator for Teaching and Learning is responsible for overseeing and coordinating programming for multilingual learners, ensuring effective instructional practices that support their academic growth. This role collaborates closely with ESOL teachers and building leaders to collect, analyze, and interpret data, using it to drive informed instructional and programmatic decisions. The job includes providing job-embedded professional development that enhances classroom instruction. By strengthening the expertise of classroom teachers, the ESOL Coordinator ensures that multilingual learners receive high-quality, differentiated instruction tailored to their needs. Through data-driven decision-making, strategic collaboration, and targeted professional learning, the ESOL Coordinator plays a key role in advancing equitable educational opportunities for multilingual learners across the district.
