Responsibilities

  • Works with individuals or small groups of students to provide instructional and assessment support with direct teacher supervision.

  • Conducts, records and summarizes student observations as directed.
  • Applies classroom rules, expectations, materials and assignments consistently.
  • Uses educational technology to document and/or support student learning.
  • Maintains timely and accurate records of student work completion and progress.
  • Prepares calendars, bulletin boards, and instructional support materials as directed.
  • Alerts teachers to changes in student behavior or performance and makes minor adjustments to current intervention strategies.
  • Directs student use of equipment and materials.
  • Performs additional related duties as requested by Building Administrator or supervising teacher.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Educational Technician I to join our Functional Life Skills program. The ideal candidate will support students with diverse learning needs in developing essential academic, social, and daily living skills. This role involves assisting classroom teachers, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and fostering a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student independence and confidence.

The city of Waterville is located on the banks of the Kennebec River and is easily accessible from two exits off I-95 as well as Route 201.
