Job summary

Waterville Public Schools in Maine is seeking an ESOL Coordinator for Teaching and Learning to oversee PK-12 multilingual learner programs. This role partners with ESOL teachers and building leaders to drive data-informed instruction and professional development.

The coordinator will analyze assessment data, support WIDA standards, and help staff implement SIOP strategies while engaging families and communities to promote equitable opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Maine ESL Endorsement required.
• Experience with English Language Learners preferred (2+ years).
• SIOP training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate programming for Multilingual Learners PK-12.
• Collaborate with ESOL department and district leaders to meet ML needs.
• Provide coaching and instructional guidance to classroom teachers.
• Support staff in understanding WIDA ELD Standards and resources.
• Assist with implementing ML instructional strategies (SIOP).
• Analyze assessments and use results to inform decisions.
• Facilitate WIDA MODEL and ACCESS for ELLs administrations as needed.
• Assist families with online registration and participate in family engagement.
