Job summary

Goodwill Industries Of Dallas Inc is seeking a Linens Grader to sort donated linen, perform quality grading, and roll items to the sales floor in line with Goodwill standards.

You will apply the four-color grading system (good, better, best) and maintain a tidy production area while adhering to safety and dress-code requirements.

Experience with retail handling is preferred; candidates must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Previous retail and/or stock handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Basic reading, writing and spoken English needed.

Responsibilities

  • Sort donated linen and place non-sellable items aside.
  • Grade merchandise based on brand and condition using Goodwill’s system.
  • Rotate merchandise using the four-color process.
  • Keep the production area clean, neat and safe.
  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance and wear name badge.

SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Team Leader and Production Team Leader, the Linens Grader is responsible for processing all donated Linen. Primary duties include sorting, quality selection, rolling Linen to the sales floor, and properly merchandising Linen according to Goodwill standards. In addition, the grading of all Linen will be based on brand & condition using Goodwill’s good, better, and best program. Finally, the Linen Grader must maintain the production area keeping workstation clean, neat, and in safe conditions.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES1. Sort donated linen and place non-sellable items into outlet containers.2. Grading merchandise based on brand & condition using Goodwill’s good, better, and best program.3. Rotate merchandise in a timely manner using Goodwill’s four-color process.4. Keep the production area clean, neat, and safe.5. Maintain a well-groomed appearance and appropriate dress code, including a name badge.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES1. Responsible for pulling and detailing linen area during power hour process per established procedure.2. Responsible for performing their assigned duties within the framework of our Core Principles3. Attend in-service and related training as assigned by Team Leader4. Perform other duties assigned by the Team Lead and Production Team Lead.QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIESThe list below is representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability utilized while performing this job.1. Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.2. Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.3. Standing and walking for long periods of time4. Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.5. Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove items from containers.6. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
