Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks a dedicated teacher to ensure every student masters core academics and social skills, embodying IDEA values daily. The role offers a starting salary of $59,500 with stipends for certifications and credentials, plus additional compensation for after-school tutoring and leadership activities.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting.
• State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Learn, master, and deliver content and grade level curriculum, core content objectives, and texts.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress and needs.
• Communicate students’ progress with student and family on a weekly basis.
• Facilitate and utilize technology to improve student achievement and manage tasks.
• Establish and maintain a behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Help shape a school-wide culture fostering productive learning environments.
• Establish cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
• Host tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs.
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins and school-wide meetings.
• Engage in continuous learning and development year-round.
• Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week.
• Additional tutoring or Saturday school as needed.
