Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities

• Instill safety as a top priority
• Provide on-site supervision and direction to crew members
• Be familiar with project specifications and able to understand plans
• Establish and adjust work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of equipment and personnel capacities
• Ensure crew time cards are filled out and submitted weekly
• Fill out daily foreman reports
• Analyze and resolve issues that may arise unexpectedly
• Explain and understand survey and grade staking (lasers, transits, and GPS)
• Manage all excavating activities for your crew
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years as a foreman/supervisor in highway heavy civil construction
• Willingness to travel
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices
• Familiarity with heavy equipment
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non‑power tools
• Frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50 lbs
• Positive attitude and excellent motivational skills
• Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization
• Good attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies
