Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking an experienced foreman/supervisor for highway heavy civil projects in the United States. You will lead field crews, enforce safety, and ensure work aligns with plans and schedules.

Candidates must have 5+ years' supervisory experience, OSHA knowledge, and the ability to operate or coordinate heavy equipment in all weather. Travel is required, and a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years as a foreman/supervisor in the highway heavy civil construction.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices.
  • Must be familiar with heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work with tools and equipment such as, power and non-power tools.
  • Frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50lbs.
  • Positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills.
  • Time management, multitasking, and prioritization are crucial.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Instill Safety as a top priority
  • Provides on-site supervision and direction to crew members
  • Familiar with project specifications and ability to understand plans
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel
  • Ensure crew time cards are filled out and submitted weekly
  • Fill out daily foreman reports
  • Analyze and resolve issues that may arise unexpectedly
  • Ability to explain and understands survey and grade staking (Lasers, Transits, and GPS)
  • Manage all excavating activities for your crew
  • Other duties may be assigned.
