Job summary

Ames Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Pipe Foreman to lead on-site crews on highway and heavy civil projects in Ohio. You will supervise crew activities, ensure safety, and interpret plans and specifications to maintain schedule.

You will manage trenching, laying pipe, and excavating operations, coordinate with equipment operators, enforce OSHA standards, fill reports, and communicate effectively with teams and site leadership. Strong leadership and weather resilience are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a pipe foreman or supervisor in highway heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices.
• Must be familiar with heavy equipment.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as, power and non-power tools.
• Frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50lbs.
• Positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills.
• Time management, multitasking, and prioritization are crucial.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.

• Establish and adjust work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
• Ensure crew time cards are filled out and submitted weekly.
• Fill out daily foreman reports.
• Analyze and resolve issues that may arise.
• Ability to explain and understands survey and grade staking (Lasers, Transits, and GPS)
• Manage all excavating activities for your crew.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
