Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Grade Control Validation Engineer to develop, integrate, and test complex grade control systems for earthmoving and mining applications.

You will work with project teams to deliver high-quality validation that focuses on safety, productivity and accuracy, in a hands-on role around large mining equipment. This full-time onsite position in Green Valley, AZ requires coordinating with machine owners and field technicians, with up to 15% travel and relocation support

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software vehicle testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements.
• Knowledge of mining technology trends and regulatory considerations; ability to apply industry knowledge to diverse situations.
• Ability to recognize, anticipate, and resolve organizational, operational or process problems with structured problem-solving approaches.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle and how to deliver and manage software products to the marketplace.
• Ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, or operation.

Responsibilities

• Understand and translate system requirements into actionable validation plans.
• Document and communicate issues found during testing and validation activities.
• Collaborate with on-site machine owners to schedule machine time for testing.
• Supervise hourly staff on machine installs and validation activities.
