Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Test and Validation Engineer to support testing and development of large mining equipment at the Tucson Proving Ground in Green Valley, AZ. You will work hands-on with hydraulic shovels and large wheel loaders, driving safety, data-enabled decisions, and continuous improvement.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, strong troubleshooting skills, and ability to collaborate across engineering teams in a field environment.

Qualifications

Experience in testing or validation within heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial machinery.
Background in machine testing, mining, or electrical/electronic systems is a plus.
Strong ability to troubleshoot technical problems related to software and controls.

Responsibilities

Drive safety and quality by reviewing and creating test procedures for system testing and maintenance.
Plan and execute testing and development for current and next generation mining equipment.
Collaborate with on-site engineers, technicians, and operators to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Document standard work procedures, execute checkouts, analyze results, and improve processes.
