Job Summary

Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) is a joint venture transforming heavy equipment solutions. The Grade Control Test Engineer will work within an international team providing verification and validation for CTCT products, collaborating with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality products to industries like earthmoving, paving, and mining. This hands-on role requires expertise in verification and validation processes.

What You Will Do
  1. Create and execute test plans for verification and validation.
  2. Test software/hardware fixes, identify bugs, document findings, and support machine operation and updates.
  3. Conduct daily on-machine or bench test validations supporting grade control setups.
  4. Utilize tools like Risk Based Thinking, Test Reports, DVP&R to evaluate validation effectiveness and mitigate risks.
  5. Manage product lifecycle knowledge across validation venues.
  6. Handle databases tracking product issues.
Education Requirement

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering field.

Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge in automotive, machine, or industrial embedded communication software.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude, manual dexterity for testing environments.
  • Proficiency with CAT ET, CANape, CANalyzer, control systems, and software coding.
  • Exposure to GNSS, machine control, and guidance system validation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a global team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

Location: Peoria, IL. Relocation assistance available. Visa sponsorship not available. Up to 10% travel required.

Salary Range

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00, subject to individual factors and performance.
