Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Colorado seeks an Early Childhood Co-Teacher to support Tier 1 instruction for Prekindergarten to Grade 2 under the guidance of the lead teacher. You will facilitate small-group learning, provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, and help create engaging classrooms where students can thrive and develop a love of learning.

This grant-funded position operates under Title I Part A, with duties aligned to grant activities.

Qualifications

• Education: at least 48 college hours or bachelor's degree required.
• Experience: 1+ year working with children in classroom or volunteer settings.
• Knowledge: early childhood development and instructional practices.
• Ability to work with young learners in whole-group, small-group, and individual learning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; adapt to diverse learner needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under direction of classroom teachers.
• Assist with maintaining student records.
• Support Tier 1 core instruction under the lead teacher.
• Facilitate small-group instruction and intervention groups based on data.
• Monitor learning and provide feedback; communicate progress weekly.
• Implement a consistent behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
• Develop classroom culture; build trust with students and families.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed and participate in meetings and events.
