Job summary

Lawrence Family Development Charter School is seeking an Early Childhood Education teacher for grades 1/2. You will deliver the approved instructional program, plan and assess student progress, and align with Massachusetts standards and the school's mission.

Responsibilities include using Schoology for plans and grades, teaching in a two-year looping structure, supervising a paraprofessional when assigned, and communicating with families to improve student achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood or related field.
• Massachusetts DESE license in PreK-2 or 1-6 is required.
• SEI endorsed or must become SEI endorsed by end of first year.
• Three years' experience preferred.
• Commitment to equity and urban education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructional program aligned with MA Common Core and school standards.
• Use technology for remote learning if the district offers hybrid or remote modes.
• Utilize Schoology and grade system to post plans, attendance and grades.
• Teach within a two-year looping classroom structure.
• Manage classroom organization and disciplinary practices; align with enrichment curriculum.
• Document lesson plans, progress, attendance and portfolios as required.
• Supervise a paraprofessional if assigned and delegate tasks accordingly.
• Communicate with families to build strong partnerships and boost achievement.
• Support dual language goals and participate in school professional development.
