Job summary

Lackawanna College is seeking a Title IX Graduate Assistant (TIX-GA) to support the Title IX office with training materials, campus programming, and administrative duties. The role offers graduate students hands-on experience while pursuing advanced studies and fosters collaboration with faculty to achieve departmental goals.

The GA will assist with student training, outreach events, and data tasks, while maintaining records and coordinating communications.

Responsibilities

  • Training Support: Assist with Canvas TIX training course materials access and troubleshooting for students.
  • Education / Community Outreach: Support college programs and tabling events; assist with planning educational programs.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with events, scheduling, email responses, and updating records and databases.
  • Student Support/Collaboration: Help with Canvas Student training courses.
  • Research/Data Support: Assist with data collection for departments.

Job description

The Title IX Graduate Assistant (TIX-GA) supports faculty and staff within the Title IX office with a variety of tasks related to student training, college community programming & outreach, and administrative duties.This role provides graduate students with valuable professional experience while they pursue their advanced studies.The GA collaborates closely with faculty and staff to help achieve departmentalobjectives,encourages academic involvement, and contributes to the success of departmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • TrainingSupport:AssistwithCanvas TIX trainingcoursematerialsaccess and troubleshooting FAQ and student issues.Assistwith updating tasks,assignments andcomprehension checksrequiredfor completionunder the supervision ofTitle IX staff.
  • Education / Community Outreach:Provides support and attendance at college community programs and tabling events throughout the academic semesters; Planning and Organizing with Title IXstaff forvarious educational programs.
  • Administrative Tasks:Help organize departmental events, workshops, and conferences. Provide general administrativeassistance, includingbut not limited toresponding to emails,schedulingand attendingmeetings,maintainingrecords, and updating databases.
  • Student Support/Collaboration:Assist with necessary student support with Canvas Student training course.
  • Research/DataSupport:Assist with data collectionspecific toeach department
  • Communication and Outreach:Draft, edit,facilitatecommunication suchas flyers, newsletters, and socialmedia.
  • Other Duties:Completeadditionaltasksassigned by the department, faculty, or supervisor that support professional development and academic goals.
  • Peak Times:Works during high impact periods, which include, but are not limitedto:annual forum, graduation, orientations, week prior to the start of the semester, first two weeks of the semester, last two weeks of the semester prior to finals, and advising periods.
Qualifications
  • Enrollment/acceptedin a Lackawanna College graduate program in Higher Education, Organizational Leadership & Management, Professional Studies, or MBA
  • Strong academic standing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • ProficiencyinMicrosoft Word, Excel, Teams, Canvas and Canva
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
