Job summary

Data Direct Networks seeks an experienced Laboratory Infrastructure Engineer to lead the setup, maintenance, and security of our technical lab environment. You will manage servers, storage, networking, and lab workstations to ensure high availability for researchers and engineers.

You will configure hardware, OS images, monitoring tools, and access controls, while coordinating with vendors and teams for experiments, benchmarks, and testing.

Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining lab infrastructure (servers, storage, networking).
• Strong Linux systems and scripting (Bash/Python).
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (KVM, Docker).
• Familiarity with monitoring systems and incident response.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain lab hardware and software (servers, storage, OS images).
• Manage user access, accounts, and permissions across lab systems.
• Monitor system health, performance, and capacity.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and coordinate with vendors.
• Implement security policies and access controls.
• Manage backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Support researchers with environment setup for experiments.
• Track licensing and hardware lifecycle.
• Coordinate lab scheduling and resource allocation.
