Job summary

The Leidos Non-Kinetic Effects Business Area is seeking an Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Engineer to join a high-performance team at Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH. You will develop, interpret, and integrate algorithms into high-fidelity simulations, and analyze EO/IR data to support critical Air Force objectives.

Responsibilities include developing new models, using GPU clusters to accelerate MATLAB/C++ code, performing validation, and mentoring staff while collaborating with customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, Electrical Engineering or similar field, and 4+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Strong understanding of MATLAB and SIMULINK.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming.
• Understanding of signal and image processing techniques.
• Knowledge of principles, concepts, and techniques of scientific analysis, statistics, and mathematical methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Leadership, project management, presentation, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply signal and image processing principles to analyze data and automate data analysis.
• Develop, integrate, and test new simulation models and algorithms.
• Utilize GPU clusters to accelerate MATLAB and C++ codebases.
• Perform modeling and simulation tasks with off-the-shelf and custom tools.
• Develop scenarios for testing, run predictions, and review data for trends.
• Verify and validate models and algorithms within high fidelity simulations.
• Develop synthetic data for algorithm tradespace analysis.
• Apply statistical methods to ensure results are complete and accurate.
• Develop test plans and document results in test reports.
• Communicate with team members and customers to determine requirements.
• Mentor staff in areas of expertise.
