Job summary

Suncore is seeking a GPS/Survey Technician to lead field layout surveys on construction projects, mentor interns, and manage Trimble systems. You will build and modify 3D models and collaborate with project teams to process survey data in the field.

You will work with project managers, read construction plans, and ensure safety/environmental compliance. UAV experience and CAD proficiency are valued assets for this role.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of construction layout experience.
• Experience with Trimble Business Center or equivalent Machine Control Model building preferred.
• Experience with Trimble surveying equipment.
• Professional license is not required but a plus.
• Experience operating UAVs for aerial surveying and mapping.
• Data preparation for GPS machine control systems.
• Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills.
• Knowledge of CAD software Terramodel, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Inroads.
• Knowledge regarding control setup, GPS, and conventional.
• Experience with surveying and measuring equipment.
• Ability to organize and foresee and resolve conflicts.
• Knowledge of transit lasers and pipe layers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train construction interns.
• Layout survey for construction projects and place stakes in ground for construction crews.
• Setup and maintain Heavy Equipment Machine Control systems.
• Operate and troubleshoot Trimble GPS, EDM, and standard surveying equipment.
• Build and Modify project 3D models.
• Work with project managers and superintendents to produce and work with calculations in the field, read construction plans, and process survey data.
• Work to resolve procedures, complaints and construction issues.
• Maintain insurable driving record.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
