Job summary

Suncore is seeking a GPS/Survey Technician to lead layout surveying on major construction projects. You will mentor interns, manage Trimble systems, create 3D models, and ensure precise field layouts. A UAV background and strong problem-solving on site are highly valued.

You will work with project teams to read plans, process survey data, and address on-site challenges while maintaining safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of construction layout experience.
• Experience with Trimble Business Center or equivalent Machine Control Model building.
• Experience with Trimble surveying equipment.
• Experience operating UAVs for aerial surveying and mapping.
• Data preparation for GPS machine control systems.
• Knowledge of CAD software Terramodel, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Inroads.
• Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train construction interns.
• Layout survey for construction projects and place stakes for construction crews.
• Setup and maintain Heavy Equipment Machine Control systems.
• Operate and troubleshoot Trimble GPS, EDM, and surveying equipment.
• Build and modify project 3D models.
• Collaborate with project managers and superintendents on field calculations and data processing.
• Resolve procedures, complaints and construction issues.
• Maintain insurable driving record.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
