Job summary

Peoples Gas System in Florida seeks a GPS Technician II to support GPS and GIS applications across field operations. You will work with end-users and IT staff to analyze, build, and produce GPS data, maps, and reports to support efficient operations.

Responsibilities include QA/QC of mapping data, maintenance of GIS land base information, and assisting in training and problem resolution while working in diverse field locations throughout the state.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent certificate is required.
• Valid Florida State Driver License and safe driving record.
• Minimum of four (4) years of work experience related to the Duties and Responsibilities of this position is required.
• Appropriate college degrees may be considered in lieu of some work experience. Disciplines include Geography, GIS, and Drafting.
• Must have knowledge and previous experience of working with GPS field collection software and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Provide User Support: assist users with GPS Barcoding equipment and GIS data interpretation, and provide training to end-users.
• Maintain GPS & Barcoding equipment: troubleshoot operations, manage inventory, and replace or repair field devices.
• Participate in process and system improvements: help evaluate and document GPS-related workflows and test software enhancements.
• Fulfill special requests: design and produce ad-hoc maps, displays, and queries to meet business requirements.
