Job summary

Progressive Regional CPA Firm in Oregon is seeking an Audit Director with a State & Local Government specialization to lead engagements and mentor staff. The role reports to partners, signs attestations when named engagement partner, and drives client relationships.

You will oversee multiple audits, manage workflow, and contribute to new business development while maintaining a work-life balance through a hybrid model, including travel as needed. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years of public accounting experience with at least 2 years in a senior manager role in the public sector.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA license required.
• Willingness to travel to client and firm locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client relationships and understand client operations and control systems.
• Serve as engagement partner or report to engagement partner and sign attest opinions when assigned.
• Oversee engagement workflows, scheduling and staffing to meet firm policies.
• Develop staff through training and conduct performance evaluations.
• Lead business development and generate fee estimates for prospective clients.
• Ensure billing and collections comply with firm policy.
• Act as government-sector SME and coordinate not-for-profit audits.
• Collaborate with partners and staff to manage multiple audits and engagements.
