Job summary

Aquatech is seeking a Government Relations Intern to join our Canonsburg, PA office this summer. This full-time, non-exempt internship runs 90 days, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm.

You will work with the government relations team on advocacy projects and cross-department data gathering. Responsibilities include creating presentations, drafting promotional content, coordinating outreach, tracking legislation, and attending meetings with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in politics, government, public policy or communications.
• Willingness to work in a non-partisan manner.
• Strong research, writing, communications skills, effective problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects at once.
• Comfort with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and presentation of materials for lobbying and outreach efforts.
• Create slides or visual presentations, write promotional material, articles, and social media updates; coordinate press releases with Communications.
• Coordinate tasks related to outreach efforts.
• Track current legislation and amendments through the congressional process.
• Cover hearings/markups and policy events; summarize debates; monitor policymakers and experts.
• Maintain vote/policy stance/target grids and other duties as assigned.
