We’re now looking to grow our footprint in the government and public sector space — and we need someone who can help us break through the red tape and win the right contracts.

Role Overview

We’re hiring a self-motivated and resourceful Government & Public Sector Sales Manager to help us identify, pursue, and win business from federal, state, municipal, and educational entities. You’ll be responsible for navigating procurement systems, managing paperwork (SAM, TAA/BAA compliance, RFPs), and developing direct relationships with buyers and procurement officers.

This role is perfect for someone who understands government processes, can find their way through a bid portal, and wants to grow with a company that’s expanding fast in a critical vertical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and monitor active bid opportunities on platforms like SAM.gov, BidNet, BuyBoard, Sourcewell, and state/local portals
  • Complete and manage paperwork for bids, proposals, compliance forms, and registrations (SAM, TAA/BAA, vendor onboarding, etc.)
  • Coordinate responses to RFPs/RFQs and submit proposals with minimal oversight
  • Build and nurture relationships with procurement officers, public sector buyers, and contractors who serve them
  • Maintain an organized bid calendar and track wins/losses
  • Report progress, wins, and bottlenecks directly to leadership
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in government sales, procurement, or public sector business development
  • Familiar with databases and portals like SAM.gov, Bonfire, Public Purchase, etc.
  • Experience submitting RFPs/RFQs and navigating compliance documents (TAA, BAA, etc.)
  • Self-sufficient, organized, and good at figuring things out
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills — written and verbal
  • Tech savvy — you know how to use spreadsheets, online portals, and CRMs
  • Lighting or construction product experience is required, LED LIGHTING BIG PLUS
