Job summary

Bering Straits Native Corporation is seeking a dedicated Buyer to support procurement for government contracts. The role focuses on sourcing micro and macro commodities, ensuring compliance with FAR and Buy American Act, and maintaining clean documentation.

You will liaise with vendors, prepare BPAs/POs, and keep CAP reports accurate, while supporting cost-effective, timely procurement decisions. The position requires at least one year in a similar procurement role and familiarity with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a similar role and in government contracts.
• 1 year experience with procurement software programs.
• Extensive knowledge of FAR regulations and Buy American Act.

Responsibilities

• Point of contact for all micro and macro commodity procurement activities.
• Review procurement activities to ensure FAR and procurement compliance.
• Communicate with vendors during procurement solicitation processes.
• Participate in procurement meetings and progress reports.
• Issue BPAs and POs for commodity purchases.
• Create, modify and closeout Purchase Orders; issue urgent POs as needed.
• Ensure accuracy of CAP Reports.
