Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) is seeking an summer intern for its Government Operations & Strategic Communications team in the Washington, DC area. The role supports experienced professionals, shadows operations, and contributes to project work within the aerospace sector.

Applicants should be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's in political science or public policy, with a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be available for a full-time, 10-week summer program in 2027.

Job Overview & Responsibilities

• Navigate challenges in Government outreach and work in the Government Operation & Strategic Communications organization.
• Interns will support one or more experienced business professionals in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of the business side of the aerospace industry.

Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns.

Required Education

• At minimum completed Junior year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
• High School/GED

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a minimum college GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application: cumulative, no rounding. NOTE: An unofficial transcript is required if you are invited for an interview. We recommend you upload it to your profile when you apply.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama; California; Florida; or Pueblo, Colorado. For Denver, Colorado and Washington, DC, motorized transportation is recommended.

Role Specific Qualifications

• At minimum, actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in political science, public policy, or relevant field from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in Government and/or Law.
• Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
• Must have plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2027.
• Previous experience with Congress, state or local government is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
• Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to complete an internship at any of the below United Launch Alliance locations:
• Washington, DC
