Job summary

Anduril in Costa Mesa, CA seeks a Legal Counsel-Government Contracts to support its Advanced Effects programs, including Roadrunner and Barracuda AAVs. The role involves navigating US and foreign government procurement and compliance, drafting and negotiating licenses and services agreements, bid protests, and IP matters, with a readiness to learn across topics.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years in government contracts, a CA bar license, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• 4+ years of work on US Government contracts matters, preferably with a law firm or in-house at a government contractor.
• Solid understanding of the government procurement process; particularly contract vehicles and types, including non-traditional and CAS coverage, software acquisition approaches, and data rights issues.
• The judgment and initiative required to own multiple projects from end-to-end, whether guiding the Product and Business Development Team through the lifecycle of a deal or handling unexpected legal issues that may arise in defense or start-up companies.
• Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Licensed to practice law in CA or ability to gain admission.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
• Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret or Top Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Be a key member of Anduril’s small, dynamic Legal Team.
• Drive customer growth by executing new government contracts and growing existing ones. Use your expertise in federal procurement law to help the Business Development, Proposal, and Engineering Teams efficiently capture new contracts, grow existing contracts, and set up follow-on opportunities for future contracts.
• Manage relationships with procurement office representatives at Government agencies and develop high-trust professional relationships.
• Provide legal counsel and day-to-day management of the entire acquisitions lifecycle, oversee major proposals, monitor large contracts, and lead negotiations.
• Work on license and services agreements, bid protests and litigation, IP, compliance, and employment matters, representing the team with outside counsel and regulators.
