A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced, diligent, and proactive Government Contracts Associate to join its growing and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government contracts law, including experience with bid protests, cybersecurity, FAR and DFARS compliance, claims analysis, and federal subcontracting issues. Location
Duties
- Manage and advise on bid protests and cybersecurity issues.
- Ensure compliance with acquisition regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
- Draft REAs (Requests for Equitable Adjustment) and claims, providing related claims analysis and counseling.
- Address federal subcontracting issues, including disputes and flow-down/compliance matters.
- Work on multiple award contracts and small business procurement regulations.
- Contribute to written and oral thought leadership.
- Participate in client development efforts and business growth activities.
Requirements
- At least 4-5 years of experience in government contracts law, preferably in a law firm setting.
- Strong analytical, writing, and legal research skills.
- Experience with bid protests, cybersecurity, FAR and DFARS compliance, and claims analysis.
- Familiarity with aerospace/defense, infrastructure/construction, life sciences/pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries is a plus.
- Ability to work independently on certain matters.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in litigation is preferred.
- Virginia State Bar admission is highly preferred.
Education
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
