Job summary

Precise Software Solutions, Inc. is seeking an AI/ML Data Engineer to design and govern the data foundation for secure AI-enabled government applications.

You will own AI-ready datasets, from ingestion and quality controls through privacy protection, lineage, and retrieval-quality measurement. You will build data pipelines, vector stores, and embedding schemas for RAG knowledge bases, while ensuring data quality, governance, and compliance in FedRAMP regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years hands-on data engineering or database development experience including data modeling, SQL, ETL/ELT.
• Experience with Generative AI data prep such as embeddings, vector databases, or training/evaluation datasets.
• Experience protecting sensitive data (PII) with masking and access controls.
• Experience with major cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and pipeline tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines for AI training, evaluation, retrieval, and operations.
• Curate and version datasets with metadata, provenance, and ingestion logs.
• Implement automated data-quality checks and maintain dataset quality scorecards.
• Design data models, vector stores, and embedding schemas for RAG knowledge bases.
• Measure retrieval/model quality against baselines using metrics (precision/recall, MRR, NDCG).
• Prepare data-related deliverables like data dictionaries, model cards, and evaluation reports.
• Build secure data access for AI apps with role-based controls and SQL interfaces.
• Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot failures, and maintain FedRAMP-compliant data in authorized cloud regions.
• Support Responsible AI by testing outputs for bias and documenting results.
