Job summary

You will supervise junior staff, develop tailored advisory solutions, and collaborate with clients and partners to drive high-quality outcomes while staying current with GASB pronouncements and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance or related field.
• Active CPA and/or CGFM certification or in-progress status.
• 4 years public accounting experience or 7 years in state/local government finance.
• Knowledge of GASB standards and governmental accounting practices.
• Experience auditing or assisting with governmental entity financial close.
• Strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and perform engagements including account close, ACFR prep, and implementation of new standards.
• Assess client accounting challenges and develop tailored advisory solutions with defined timelines.
• Review ACFR for accuracy against benchmarks and prepare executive-level reports.
• Supervise staff, provide training, and manage engagement economics to meet goals.
• Develop technical specialization and act as an internal/external consultant.
• Create content (articles, podcasts, webinars) on government accounting to build brand.
