Job summary

Town of Addison is seeking a qualified Accountant to maintain financial records, perform reconciliations, and prepare journal entries in a government setting. The role supports the town's financial activities, including P-Card processing, investment reconciliations, and debt service payments.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and have at least two years of government accounting experience, with strong knowledge of GAAP and reporting to the Texas

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Two years of accounting experience, preferably in government accounting.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and journal entries.
• Process bi-weekly P-Card payable batches and journal entries; perform P-Card reconciliations.
• Prepare and file reports with the Texas Comptroller for sales tax and related fees.
• Reconcile investment pool statements; record investment cash activity.
• Process debt service payments and related reporting.
• Contribute to the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
• Maintain debt transparency information and arbitrage calculations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Town leadership.
