Job summary

Collin County seeks an Accountant/Auditor to perform a broad range of audit, accounting and financial reporting duties in a team environment under the Financial & Accounting Supervisor.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s in accounting/finance, 2–3 years of accounting/audit experience, and proficiency in Excel; experience with MUNIS or Odyssey preferred; Texas driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years accounting/audit experience.
• Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.

Responsibilities

• Account reconciliations.
• Agency fund accounting.
• Bond issuance and debt management.
• Budget accounting and project management.
• Capital asset accounting.
• Cash management and investment accounting.
• Maintaining chart of accounts.
• Monitoring general ledger transactions and balances.
• Analysis of financial data and resolving reporting discrepancies.
• Preparing financial reports, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
• Processing journal entries.
• Revenue accounting and analysis.
• Maintaining transparency requirements.
• Unclaimed property accounting and reporting.
